I was doing so well, staying off the blog -- 8 months of being blog-free! And then, I took a road trip through central Alaska.
Everywhere, there were pictures begging to be taken and shared. And I relapsed. :-)
Here, a taste of the beauty that is Alaska.
Denali (formerly known as Mount McKinley), the highest mountain peak in North America at 20,310 feet.
This majestic mountain is known for being elusive; it spends much of its time hiding behind clouds. Visitors hoping to catch a glimpse are warned they may never see it. On this day, all but the very tip of the mountain was visible.
Polychrome Mountains, at Mile 46 of Denali Park Road.
A lone caribou gazes over Polychrome Pass in Denali National Park.
Kachemak Bay - Cook Inlet. Looking down on fluffy white clouds that you would normally see only from an airplane.
Chugach Mountain Range, Kenai River, Kenai Peninsula
Blue skies along Turnagain Arm, a stretch of road south of Anchorage that often makes the top ten list of most scenic routes in the U.S.
This blog especially dedicated my mountain-loving friend Mary.
