With all the butterfly gardens I've enjoyed around the world (Malaysia, Bali, Newfoundland, Houston, Aruba, Phoenix, North Carolina), it's hard to believe I've never been to the one in my own back yard, Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden at the National Museum of Play in Rochester NY. It took a suggestion from a friend (thanks Dale!) for us to check it out this week.
It's the only butterfly garden I've been to that charges by time ($13 museum entry fee, plus $4 for each 20 minutes), which was a bit disconcerting to me considering I've been known to wile away entire afternoons in butterfly gardens. But the residents were exquisite, as always!
Beautiful!

Wonderful shots! Love how one butterfly sits on a small waterfall of delicate pink flowers. The bottom BF is lovely even though it is "only" black & white.

How can such a small butterfly suggest such grandeur? Thanks, Basia.

Dale: Yeah, I love the delicateness of it also.
Mary: I know, amazing isn't, that such little creatures can do that.
Shannon: You're welcome...my pleasure
Donna: I was there over Labor Day week, gone now.
Ron: Thanks Ron!
