En route to the Baltimore-Washington airport, I decided to drive through the heart of the city, and quickly discovered that Baltimorians march to the beat of their own drummer.

Freak show (that's not me being judgemental, that's what they were calling themselves, according to a couple I chatted with) courtesy of the Otakon convention--celebrating all things anime and manga--which was in full swing in Baltimore.
I should also tell you that this entertaining little pit stop resulted in my first-ever invite to "a rave." Well except for that one wild night with the Varanasi hashish man. Which counts, I think.

I was going to say it was storybook/cartoon week........

I think it's very cool. More of us should take to the streets in costume. What did Pan Shakespeare say? All the world's a stage. I'd come as a gypsy.

Shannon: And you would have been right...
Tereska: I wouldn't mind doing the costume thing...but just figuring out what to wear each morning seems like effort enough for me! I can picture you as a "cyganka" though :o)
