DonnaK: Yeah, I wondered about the dipping too. Is it something you do with tobacco? No, not heading any further west for the moment (though Phoenix is a possibility in the future). Heading to Virginia next.

On the other hand, I think it's bit reassuring that there are still places in the country that have not been McDonaldized. Just an idea--Go find at Golden Arches place and see if you find a sign that was not issued by headquarters.

Dipping, and don't ask how I know this, is a reference to moist smokeless tobacco; a plug of which is packed between the cheek and teeth. We northerners know it as chewing tobacco. Barf.
