I never pass up a chance to visit a butterfly garden. This one at the Newfoundland Insectarium was smaller than some others I've been to (Bali, Malaysia, Houston), but the brilliant colors and sheer volume of butterflies made it my favorite so far.

Just beautiful! The colors are magical...it's like they're posing for us to show off their glory...thanks. Made my day. sharon

This is amazing... I just can't believe that undoctored images can be this spectacular. Looks like the butterflies were posing on color coordinated leaves/flowers as well.

Sharon: You're welcome! That's why this butterfly garden was my favorite, of all the ones I've seen. The colors--both butterfly and flowers--were just amazing.
Rema: The color-coordination was astonishing to me as well. I don't know whether it was coincidence (or perhaps camouflage?), but they were definitely picking the most photogenic perching spots.

Hi Basia....these pictures are simply so beautiful. The picture of the butterfly beside the caterpillars were so beautiful...it was like a mother urging her kids to eat and grow fast so they can grow uo to be as beautiful as her! The colors were actually so refreshing!
